I played the public beta of the game just before it's Europe release. I found myself easily bored by it though. I've heard many people and reviews say that they had a 'Just one more' experience. I didn't have that at all. I found it too passive (fighting isn't much more than clicking your mouse a few times in a pretty much set order) and playing always seems to be about finding a better item or gaining a level instead of just enjoying the game.

This might just be the way I played the game and that if you approach the game with a different mindset you can actually really enjoy it.

Enjoying the game?
- Sometimes I just ride around enjoying the view, sometimes I hand around in Ironforge doing nothing, sometimes I go guild-raiding. The last one is the most fun one, but I enjoy every minute I am online. Sometimes I even do crazy stuff like look up huge cliffs to jump down from. If you think the game is stupid because this is the only way to 'enjoy' it, the you're completely wrong.

But the fighting is pretty passive?
- Not at all. This game is all about teamspirit. When I'm doing an instance e.g. I'm having a wonderful time, even without loot. It takes effort to get a quick grip on your groups' capabilities, and then there's the working-together-thing. Also, I know I use completely different tactics everytime I do pvp. It completely depends on the team's/opponent's style.

Btw, I play in the American Realm "Azjol-Nerub", under the name "Stoutheart".

The first expansion pack for this game is on it's way, The Burning Crusade. The new playable race for the Horde are the Blood Elves. What do you guys think the new race for the Alliance will be?

Well I don't play it either, but that's because it's not addictive enough for my taste. But it's still fun to guess what the new race for the Alliance will be.

Some people out there have some pretty dumb ideas about the alliance race. Here are some examples:

1. Pandaren
2. Draenei
3. Furbolgs
4. Keepers / Dryads
5. Chaos Orcs
6. ... etc ...

The best idea I've seen so far is the Draenorc. This is a race that originates from Outland, just like the Orcs and the Draenei. Back in the time when Draenor was still a lush place abundant with life, the Draenei were still a beautiful race that looked much like the humanoid races of Azeroth. At some point in time when Outland exploded, creating all those floating islands, the Draenei were also severly afflicted. Their bodies mutated by the intense energies Outland suffered, and they became to look the way as we know them now.
During the corruption of the orcs, many battles where fought between them and the Draenei. The Orcs, fierce as they are, conquered many of the Draenei and imprisoned most survivers (mainly women and children) in internment camps. During the existence of those camps many female Draenei where raped by their Orc capters, some of them giving birth to a new bastard race known as the Draenorcs (knowing Blizzard they'll propably come up with a better name). After the orcish invasion of Azeroth, some of the Draenorcs also found their way into the newfound world. Baring a natural hatred against the Orcs, the Draenorcs found allies in the Alliance of Lordaeron. Those were overeager to accept them into their ranks, because the Draenorcs knew the Orcs and their origins at first hand.

So far the story part, now let's talk evidence. If you take a look at the world map of WoW and you look at the parts that haven't been implemented yet, you'll notice a big part of southeastern Azeroth. Those areas lie pretty close to the Dark Postal (Badlands) and Draenei in Azeroth (Swamps of Sorrow). These areas are propably going to be used for the starting areas for the new alliance race.
Also, there's an entry in Wikipedia about a Draenorc that was once a real NPC in WoW during early US beta. This character was removed later on though, and has never been heard of since. You can find the entry by clicking on the link below:

Apparently the Draenei wasn't such a dumb idea.
